Is Dancing A Sin?
| Who Is Grace?, Author of "Is Dancing A Sin?" & President of www.DancingWithGrace.Com |
Grace Gonzalez Badillo is the A Born Again Christian. She is also the President of Dancing With Grace Productions, A Dance Educator, Master of Ceremonies, and Philanthropist. The Winner of the National Presidential Volunteer Service Award from President George W. Bush in 2008, Grace and her husband Hugo have a heart for dance, dancers and using dance for good throughout the nation and their own local communities.
After years of teaching Latin dance to all ages, nationalities, shapes and sizes, Grace wrote an article called "Is Danc a Sin?" She received hundreds of responses to the article thanking her for clearing up the confusion of so many believers out there, but also detailing the struggles of being creative and not having pastors or families that cared what the word of God said about this subject. After speaking to so many people who have been disowned by their families and church families for being the creative beings God made them to be, Grace realized she had to write a book on the subject. Self publishing isnt easy, but she has started this website in the hopes of creating a fan base to help her publish her book. The book is almost complete and will be published by Xlibris Publishing. The book will tackle issues like the evil places dance can take you if you let it, the legalistic church and abandonment of pastoring to creative people, how parents and the church should navigate the dance world, dance in movies and how its represented on television, and how children and adults can talk to their parents about their dreams of a dance career or hobby. Dance can be the ultimate of all sins in anyone's life if they make it their idol, use it to incite lust, or let it take you away from prayers and your personal relationship with God. Everything the church says is okay to do can also be a sin if you make it one: do you neglect your responsibilites and/or family by going to every church event possible? Even going to church can be a sin if you ignore your responsibilities! Do you work to earn a living and hardly see your wife or family? Do you pray in front of men to sound more Godly and go home and act like a tyrant? Do you act self righteous because you are a believer? Every single thing created on this planet can be used for sinful purposes, including worshiping God if we do it for the wrong reasons; this is the challenge of our lives, The Battlefield of The Mind, and using our free will for good and not evil! Grace doesn't want RELIGION and the RELIGIOUS attitudes of the "Pharisee like" legalistic church to steal your joy and creativity! You are not alone. There are hundreds of thousands of dancers out here who believe in the Lord! There is no scripture in the bible that states dance is a sin, but it can be if we are not careful about it just like anything else. This is not a black and white issue; that is why this website is so colorful!! :0) Grace is using her dance career to inspire other dancers and instructors to use dance for good in their communities; dont just dance for yourself! Dance for others; bring joy to the sad, sick, lonely and depressed; dance for your husband/wife and bring romance into your hearts once again! Dance can be a wonderful tool if used for the right reasons. You can check out all that she, her husband and team have done for the least of these at www.DancingWithGrace.com |
